Jr. High Empower Bible Study (Grades 6-8) Begins September 14
9:00 a.m. at Living Hope Lutheran Church
We are excited to offer middle-school-age students an opportunity for Biblical teaching and discussion during the Education hour on Sunday mornings. Each week we will examine different topics and sections of the Bible and apply them to our lives as young Christians. Sometimes, we do other activities and projects during the time to keep our Sunday mornings filled with adventure and variety.
Sr. High Horizon (Grades 9-12) 6:30 p.m. at Living Hope Begins September 14
On Sunday Nights, we look forward to gathering together with other Christian teens. It is a great time to connect through snacks and games, and to discuss issues that are looming large in our lives. We do our best to blend in solid Biblical study with real-life applications on the topics in front of us each week.
Tuesdays
Men’s Bible Class 6:30 a.m. at Bloomington Lutheran School Begins September 9
Paul wrote to the Philippian Christians “I am torn between the two”. A Greek lexicon explains it this way: “to be in a mental state between two alternatives-‘to be pulled in two directions, to be betwixt and between, to have conflicting thoughts.’”. If this describes your thoughts at times, then join us Tuesday mornings as we discuss Dr. Bruce Becker’s Torn: Living on Earth While Longing for Heaven. We will begin Tuesday, September 9th at 6:30am at Bloomington Lutheran School. You can join us in-person or on zoom. If you are interested, please contact Mark Edlund at medlund@thesfc.com. Additionally, if you are new to our group or returning to us, we will provide you with a free copy of the book.
Deaf/Hard of Hearing Bible Study 6:00 p.m. at Living Hope Lutheran Church Begins September 16
This year, we will begin by studying “Psalms - Psalms of praise, petition, penitence and prophesy”. Each week we choose a different Psalm to read and discuss together. Deaf bible study uses ZOOM and with an ASL interpreter.
We will meet each Tuesday at 6PM. Contact Pastor Krueger at pastorkrueger@hotmail.com for more information.

Families with Young Children Bible Study 7:00 p.m. at alternating homes in Bloomington Begins September 9
2nd Tuesday of every month (September 9, October 14, November 11, December 9)
We will be reading the book Redeemed: Our Lives as Sinners and Saints by Dan Hoppen. By studying major biblical characters, we will apply the lessons they teach us to our lives as individuals, as parents, and in the lives of our children. We will see how Christ’s redemption influences our identity, helps us show forgiveness to others, and empowers us to live lives pleasing to God.
This Bible study exists to make connections between parents and families with younger children. We all currently have babies up to elementary aged kids. This in-home study features childcare- we are thankful for the helpers. Are you interested in joining us? Do you want to help with child care? Please let Jill or Eric Wolf know at jill.wolf@mybllh.org or eric.wolf@mybllh.org. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month, at rotating homes. Childcare helpers are always needed!
Wednesdays
Adult Bible Class 10:30 a.m. at Bloomington Lutheran Church Begins September 10
The goal of this course is to study the whole gospel of Matthew. Matthew reveals to us how Jesus taught his disciples to make disciples of others. In today's religious world, there is much discussion about what makes a Christian a disciple. Some distinguish between mere believers and real disciples. Believers, they say, focus on faith in Christ and doctrine, while disciples really seek to let God guide their lives. Scripture makes no such distinction. Matthew tells us to watch Jesus, learn who he is, and see his compassion and power and how he ushers in the Kingdom of God. Watch him die for our sins and rise again. As we do this, we will be willing and able to follow him and grow in our ability to live for him.
Women of Hope Bible Study In the Living Room at Living Hope
Morning Session - 9:15-11:00 a.m. (every Wednesday beginning September 10 - December 10)
Join us on Wednesdays from 9:15-11:00 am at the Living Hope Living Room for fellowship, prayer and Bible study. Starting on Sept. 10, we will be meeting to study, "Taboo:Topics Christians Should Be Talking About But Don't", by Mike Novotny.
'Hot-button issues dominating our culture can make speaking out feel taboo. Hiding from hard conversations won’t work. We need to know what God actually says about these issues, and by looking to Scripture, we can find the answers. In Taboo, author Mike Novotny covers deeply personal, vulnerable, and emotional topics, handling them with grace and respect. It’s the ultimate resource for Christians looking to create change and deal with struggles in their own lives. God’s Word gives us clarity, healing, and hope. Taboo is a must-read for Christians looking for a biblically based resource to modern questions. Not talking is not helping! It’s time for believers to step gracefully into the Taboo and share God’s truth with a world in need.' Participants will need a copy of the book and a notebook (optional). If you have questions or need help ordering a book, contact Tracy Birkholz at tabirkholz@gmail.com.

King David is one of the major characters and one of the major kings of the Old Testament. God described David as a “man after his own heart (1 Samuel 13:4).” Through this study, we will study King David’s life, the good and the bad,, his faithfulness and falls from grace, his triumphs and troubles. Through it, we will see God’s faithfulness to David, his faithfulness to us, and will lead to Jesus, a greater king from an even greater kingdom.’ Reach out to Eric Wolf if you have any questions: eric.wolf@mybllh.org.
